Do you know… Facebook is currently the most heavily used Social Networking platform in the world, and to add to this is the fact that over 83% of web users from across the globe mention Facebook as their choicest Social Networking Site. Also worth noticing, is the fact that the platform which was created with the intention of allowing people to interact with others and socialize, today has become an important business stream too.

We all know, Facebook Page for an organization or an individual is probably the best medium for connecting with its existing and prospective customers, past employees and future associates. However, one thing that not many of us are aware of is the fact that Facebook Profile is also capable of ranking (and ranking high) in the Search Engines, next to your website or blog page (thus promoting the brand/products/services/organization etc). Hence if you are looking for business promotion then it is necessary for you to optimize your Facebook Page for Search Engine Optimization.

So today, we will discuss some tips and tricks which will help you in optimizing your Facebook Page to get it right with SEO, have a look below:

a- Make a Custom URL- Facebook now allows us to create a customized Facebook URL and so we must make the best use of it to reap its benefits. Hence make sure to create a customized/custom URL for your brand’s/organizations’/products’/services’ Facebook page. If you had earlier created an URL which has random words then now you can also customize it to create a more relevant and suitable URL which will help Facebook users in finding your profile easily while conducting searches.

b- Add content snippets with redirect link- Always remember, your Facebook page or account is not just a platform for social interaction, but is also a knowledge repository for many. An information hub which helps people in getting relevant information about you/your organization/brand/services etc. Hence, it is advisable for you to put some information in form of content. This content could be of your blog post, articles, press releases or lines from your web page…etc However, do not put the entire content. The best way is to put one or two lines, some keywords, gist and there you can place a redirect link, which when clicked will take the visitor to that blog, article, press release or web page etc. This will also act as the source of inbound link and additional traffic to your web page.

c- Pay equal respect to every section- When it comes to Facebook; it is not only your wall that matters… besides your wall, you also need to pay attention to other aspects like Info Tab etc. Info Tab is the best place to provide your company description, address and add links. The Description Area on Facebook is also a very important place for Keywords and hence it can be considered as the master area for Meta Tags.

The above mentioned will also help you with your local SEO efforts!

Note: Above mentioned are some of the easiest ways of optimizing a Facebook Page for SEO; however we have a lot more in store to offer you…

Today let’s discuss Word-of-Mouth marketing and we shall begin with understanding what exactly it is?

Basically Word-of-Mouth Marketing is a form of marketing/advertising where information is passed on from one person to several others and this chain continues, thus creating awareness and buzz. However, technically there are several ways to define the term. For example,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Word_of_mouth says-“Word of mouth refers to oral communication and passing of information from person to person”. Storytelling is the oldest form of word-of-mouth marketing and this plays a great role in preserving the values of ancient tradition, folklore and mythology.

Hence if you are one of the marketers who have been spending huge sum of money on advertising/marketing/publicity of your organization/product/services then all that can be said is… it’s high-time and you need to think twice before spending any more money on something which is still less effective in Word-of-Mouth marketing. This practice though has been in existence for a very-long long time but the advent of internet technology and its ever-increasing usage has brought several modifications in its existing practices. And never-ever to be missed is the fact that word-of-mouth marketing on the internet domain is also referred as Viral Marketing, Guerrilla Marketing and also Buzz Marketing. The biggest benefits of word-of-mouth advertising are – (1) it helps organizations in better positioning their brands and offerings. (2) It brings peoples’ attention towards the brand rapidly. (3) It greatly influences consumers’ buying decision.

Now let’s discuss the methods for highly effective Word-of-Mouth marketing-

• Testimonials and Reviews- These are one of the easiest ways of doing Word-of-Mouth Marketing and hence try and get as many positive testimonials and reviews as you can get, from your clients/customers and place them on your website. These are extremely effective in catching web-readers attention and inspiring them for buying it, also because now-a-days most of the people tend to read reviews before purchasing anything or availing services from. So it will help you in boosting your sales and will also create a good-will among readers.

• Create an extremely attractive and informative Facebook Fan Page- Facebook fan page is indeed one of the best ways to connect with one’s existing customers, prospective customers and business partners. There are a number of ways by which you can participate in extensive word-of-mouth marketing, like- having status updates, adding photos & videos, creating interesting & informative events, inviting fans to attend, games, online contests etc are some of the best ways to do effective Viral Marketing and Buzz Creation on Facebook (fan page).

• Share with as many friends as you can- make the best use of the unique facility (offered by Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn ) of connecting with your peers, ex-colleagues, family members etc, placed all over the globe. Talk to them, share your experiences, create awareness, be-aware and while doing all of this, participate in Word-of-Mouth marketing.

Above mentioned are some of the easiest ways doing of Word-of-Mouth marketing, but we have a lot more in store to offer you…

Now that we are talking about Image Optimization and techniques for easy image optimization today, let me first ask you all- if you get a document which is full of text and has no image at all … and then you have another copy of the same document but this one has interesting images to support the text and information presented on the document…then which document will you prefer to read, the one which has plain text or the one with images to support the text….I am sure most of you will choose the second one with images. This is absolutely normal, because though image communicates passively, but when complimented with text, it becomes the easiest medium for multiple-way communication. And hence if some information along with supporting images is presented on a website then it is sure to get more traffic…!

Hence, because of all the above mentioned reasons, is has become very important to optimize the images used on a web-pages/websites.

Now let’s discuss image optimization and techniques for successful image optimization-:

The first thing that needs to be kept in mind is- Image Optimization is all a matter of Keywords. Just at SEO/Search Engine Optimization needs relevant keywords to achieve high page-ranks similar is the case with Image Optimization which requires relevant text and keywords to perform for the page.

Effective techniques which will help you in Optimizing Images are mentioned below, have a look:-

a- Caption Writing- here you can write a short-clear-crisp-relevant caption/description best describing the image and place it below or beside the image. This is one of the best techniques for increasing and enhancing an image’s search results.

b- ALT Attribute- Have ever tried noticing what happens when you place the mouse-cursor on an image present on a web page…? A text appears on the screen the moment you place the cursor on it. It is called alt. text and it plays a very important role in web browsing because it explains/describes the image, thus helps the search engines like Google Yahoo and Bing etc in understanding the image and reason for its placement. It is also important because it downloads faster than images hence even if the image does not get downloaded for some reason, then at least this text gives to the viewers an idea of what was on the page.

c- Text Links- these are used when an image needs to be linked to a web page. Keywords or text placed here are also called anchor texts.

d- File-name- it is always better if you name your images/files relevantly rather than letting is have haphazard name that generates automatically when you upload/save an image. For example, if an image has a name “image optimization tips 1” then it sounds much more meaningful than “LPG12734.jpg”…don’t you think so?

e- Wrap Text- it is a pattern where you can also present an image in a document or on a web page by placing it in the centre of the text that surrounds it. It is one of the most common pattern of image placement in print media i.e. Newspapers, Magazines, Book etc.

The above mentioned were some of the easiest tips of effective image optimization, however we have much more to offer you…
This is one of the best techniques for increasing and enhancing an image’s search results.

b- ALT Attribute- Have ever tried noticing what happens when you place the mouse-cursor on an image present on a web page…? A text appears on the screen the moment you place the cursor on it. It is called alt. text and it plays a very important role in web browsing because it explains/describes the image, thus helps the search engines like Google Yahoo and Bing etc in understanding the image and reason for its placement. It is also important because it downloads faster than images hence even if the image does not get downloaded for some reason, then at least this text gives to the viewers an idea of what was on the page.

c- Text Links- these are used when an image needs to be linked to a web page. Keywords or text placed here are also called anchor texts.

d- Filename- it is always better if you name your images/files relevantly rather than letting is have haphazard name that generates automatically when you upload/save an image.

At the Internet Advertising Bureau’s Annual Leadership meet, the CEO of Google: Dr. Eric Schmidt said, “mobile search in the recent times has grown much faster than the desk-top searches …” Going by this, we can come to the conclusion that it’s high-time for businesses to pay crucial attention on mobile as a medium of their marketing campaign, for it can drive consequential traffic to one’s website which leads to increase in business and revenue.

Hence if you are thinking of using the mobile technology as a medium for your business promotion and marketing, then a few strategies which you need to follow to get desired results and maximum visibility are mentioned below, have a look-

- The first thing you need to keep in mind is, no mobile technology will help you in escalating your business for good, until you get your mobile website designed and developed for the purpose. Hence having a mobile website is no more a choice but a mandate. For those who are new to the term- Mobile Site or Mobile Website, let’s first understand what is a mobile website- “The Mobile Web refers to the use of Internet-connected applications, or browser-based access to the Internet from a mobile device, such as a smart-phone or tablet computer, connected to a wireless network (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Web)”

Get the best DIS_Device Independent Strategy:-

As we know, now-a-days search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing etc) determines the PR (page rank) of a web page after considering numerous factors with respect to mobile browsers. Such factors are- websites’ performance on a mobile based browser, usability, downloading speed and screen rendering etc. This makes it perfectly clear that a search optimized website which efficiently encloses functionality and important content from the main sites will rank higher in results than a website that is just reformatted to fit in a mobile screen.

Hence, it is very important for businesses to get a device independent strategy that efficiently supports mobile OS.

Execute SEO Practices (traditional search engine optimization) on Mobile Platform:-

- Use of related Keywords in Title and Body- use of keywords in title and body makes the content more clear and focused which is good because mobile searches are mostly specific, short and crisp.

- Never miss out on Page Titles & Page Descriptions- these are the first elements which help the mobile browsers in understanding the gist of the page and in deciding…whether it should show in the results or not. Adding, make sure your page titles are similar to search terms used by maximum searchers.

- Web Page Coding- as we know, we have a wide variety of Operating Systems which are so-called supported by mobile browsers. Hence it is necessary for you to choose the best suiting coding like HTML Coding. This coding format is recommended because mobile browsers decipher HTML codes easily to arbitrate search relevancy.

Mobile Search… 5 Years – from Now

Actively increasing number of mobile purchase (urban & rural area) coupled with tremendous growth in mobile technologies, indicate that in coming times or say 5 years-from now, mobile/mobile search will be fundamental in driving huge website traffic to businesses (or, it may even overshadow the desktop-traffic). And for this, organizations should assimilate latest coding languages like HTML5 etc in their SEO practices to achieve improved usability and superior performance, leading to increased page ranks.

It is a proven fact that the biggest concern of almost every website owner and web master is that of the bounce rate of their website. And if not just the bounce rate than the increasing number of bounce rate. This is why most of the webmasters always strive to reduce the bounce rate of their website because it not only affects the online business but also damages the reputation of the website among the search engines like Google Yahoo Bing etc. So if you too are going through this problem and even after putting constant effort have failed in stabilizing the bounce rate then below mentioned are some points which will help you get rid of this trouble…Have a read-through:

Website’s Compatibility with numerous popular browsers- Always remember, web compatibility with the browsers is the basic key to the success of the website. Because no one would like to visit and spend time on a website that is not compatible to the browser they are using, and is inconvenient-to-use, extra time-taking and causes irritation to the users. And this way, you might be loosing on quality leads.

Easy and Smooth Navigation- User-friendly navigation of a website is another important factor which plays a leading role in enabling visitors to spend more time on the website and go through it in a detailed manner. This is because a website which does not have a friendly-navigation, will never be able to retain the interest of the visitors. Rather it will distract them and the user will ultimately choose to move away instead of spending more time on an uneasy thing.

Make the best use of re-direction facility- Never ever compromise on the re-direction facility. Use it wherever necessary because it helps you present desirable and adequate information to the user at a relevant stage and it also saves the time of the visitor. Having said this, you must also never go over-board with it and use it only when it is genuinely required because excessive use of it makes the web page heavy.

Meaningful Relevant and Eye Catchy tag lines- Tag lines are first element that catches the attention the viewers and provides them the gist of the entire web page. So make sure the tag lines being used on your website are relevant to the information on the web page, are meaning and also attractive enough to catch the attention of the viewers.

Call-to-Action- Use call-to-action buttons on every page that talks about about your specialty and service offerings. This will stimulate users to put a query which will act as a business lead for you and will help you increase sales.

Allow user participation- Allowing user participation on your website will help you establish your brand identity, keep users aware of latest developments within your company and have their feedbacks. You can do this with the help of regular news posting, videos, live chat, discussions etc. However, do not add excessive and unwanted elements like images etc to your website. Remember, sober things always leave a long-lasting impact.

Try the above mentioned and if you need more information, feel free to get in touch with our consultants.

Now-a-days, almost every organization and individual owns a blog and their ardent desire is to make their blog a very popular one on Google with maximum back links and high page rank. However, there are very few who actually know the correct process for making their blog popular and successful with increasing traffic coming to it.

So for all such people who lack in proper knowledge that can make their blog a popular and successful one, we have mentioned some information which will prove to be useful.

Have a read-through:

Publish more frequently- Always remember, the more posts you publish on your blog, the more authenticated and reliable one your blog will be considered by Google. It means if there is a 2 years old blog site which publishes 1 post every month or every 2 months and there is your blog which is just half-an-year old but on it 2-3 posts are published every week, then chances are quite likely that your blog will be considered as more matured and trusted one by the search engine and its page rank will also be higher than the older one. So make it a point to publish as many posts as you can and as frequently as you can.

Quality is more important than Quality- Although as mentioned, it is very important for a blog to publish posts frequently in order to remain in the good books of Google however, not to undermine is the fact that quality is more important than quantity and always be so, not only for Google but for every other search engines. So when you are publishing posts on your blog, make sure you are not being driven by the time factor and compromising on the quality. Ensure whatever you are posting has quality and is worth being posted on your blog, thus they are unique and informative.

Proper Interlinking- Efficient linking is as important as posting. No matter how many posts you publish every week, it will be of practically no use if your blog is not interlinked- read more and keyword based linking. Interlinking of the inner pages of the website with the home page with high page rank and keywords within the content linked with other relevant content always proves to be beneficial as it shows the vastness of the blog and gives an impression of the detailed information it contains.

Keep the fundamentals correct- Make sure you never loose out on the basics of content. It means, while writing the content for the post, ensure that the basics of content writing – keyword density, keyword proximity, keyword prominence etc are kept intact. Being SEO friendly is a very important thing to be for the blog contents. And last but not the least, neither ignore the keywords nor be over-obsessed with it. What precisely I mean is that the content for the blog post should be unique, informative, grammatically correct, rich and social media as well as SEO friendly. Intact

For information regarding SEO/ SEM/ Web Design/ SMO/ Online Advertising/ Web Hosting/ Web Maintenance etc, please visit:

One of the basic aspects of search engine optimization, also referred as SEO, is the process of keyword research. However, there are many people (not used to the basics of internet) who still don’t know what does a ‘keyword’ mean, why is it considered as an indispensable part of the process of Search Optimization and why are they given so much importance and value by the webmasters. So for such people, it it becomes necessary for me to first of all explain, what exactly a Keyword means….’So you just recall last time you searched something on the net for your academic, professional or personal use. You must have typed some words or phrases in the search box of the search engines like Bing, Yahoo or Google, so as to get the exact results…

Those words or group of words (phrases) that you typed (or people type) to retrieve information are the keywords. Thus in short keywords can be explained as the elementary components that drive traffic into a website. By optimizing keywords, which is one of the most important aspect of the search engine process, one can drive maximum traffic to one’s website, blogs videos and even articles (if you are engaged in Article marketing and want to make a lot of money from it). And increased traffic will subsequently help you in increasing and improving your page ranks/web rank. Not only these, but with the use of relevant keywords you can also ensure that relevant quality traffic is coming to your website/articles/blogs etc. And last but certainly not the least, using and targeting the right keywords or the keywords best suited to your business theme & goal will efficiently determine the success of your website/online business.

Now you must have understood the basics of keyword and why they are considered an indispensable part of SEO and moreover must be thinking, how can one get the perfect keywords for their website or business and how to go about the keyword research process… So remember, the best way to do a keyword research is to use online tools or Google keyword research tool because they will easily help you in knowing the popular words that most of the internet visitors use for getting results. However, there are a few other factors you need to keep in mind during the keyword research process. They are:

First of all, very clearly define and understand the theme and motive of your business. Never mix goals. For example, if your are into buying and selling of used motor bikes then choose words like second-hand bikes or used bikes rather than going for generic words like bikes or automobiles.

Keyword phrases are always better than single words because they are less competitive yet they give defined results. However, never go for long sentences that have more than 3 words.

If you have a specifically targeted audience then be very particular about the geography while selecting the keywords.

Neither go for highly competitive keywords nor choose the least competitive ones.

Last, remember Keyword research is a continuous process and so you should do it periodically to keep your site ranking high.

As a matter for fact, in today’s cut-throat competition it is almost imperative for a business to get noticed if it wants to be successful and if you have an online business then Keyword research is one activity which will take you a few steps closer to your goal.

Now that we are talking about URLs and optimization of URLs today, let me first ask you all… Do we really need to optimize URLs for better functioning or just leaving them as they are is perfectly fine…?

The above mentioned is one of the most common questions among the webmasters and search engine optimizers these days… and there seems to be some confusion about them. The confusion prevails because once Google had clearly stated that the search engines does not have any difficulty in crawling over long and moderately complicated URLs and if the content present on the webpage is significant and keyword based then the spiders can easily understand their meaning and theme of the web page/website. However, in recent times Google initiated a new parameter for filtering the URLs which in return could help Google bots make logic of the less relevant characters present in the dynamically produced URLs.

So what does it mean, should we use it to filter the URLs for helping Google or simply leave the dynamically created URLs the way they are…? Well considering the repercussions of easy crawling of the search engines, it is advisable that you must always use the parameter and keep the URLs well optimized all the time and this should be done to make the crawling and understanding task easier for the search engine: Google. And in return it will always benefit your site!!!

Thus, it can be said… “Yes it is necessary to Optimize URLs “ for Google and this is necessary only for making them similar to the content and to give clear indication about the content to Google.

Most of the webmasters and search engine optimizers believe that the more backlinks/in-links/in-coming links you have on important pages of your website, (homepage, product pages, service pages etc) the more are the chances of your site being preferred and valued by the search engines. And this will be followed by increase in the chances of your web pages getting top page ranks.

This is because, Google Page Rank depends heavily upon the number of backlinks your web pages have and also because at many occasions Google has clearly stated that the outgoing links on the web pages does not have any direct influence on the page rank. And so, instead of giving links to many other prominent sites, one must pay more attention in getting links form them. However, when we say ‘getting links’ which means ‘backlinks’, it means getting them from quality sites i.e. sites that have high page rank from Google.

However, many times it becomes difficult for webmasters to get backlinks for their sites when they do not choose to give links to other sites. If this is the situation with you too, then there is a solution…If at all you cannot do without giving link to others then make sure you are linking your site to sites and are genuine, reputed and has high page rank and not to any other site that comes your way. It is very necessary because if a site gets banned due to its unethical practices and has a link of your site on it, then your site will also get in their network and this may increase the possibilities of getting you into a bad reputation.

Thus it is advisable that instead of cutting down on the number of outgoing links, ensure that you link your site with only trustworthy ones. And in case if it becomes necessary for you to link with someone you don’t know much about, then never ever forget to use no-follow tags; which helps in giving the crawlers necessary signal.

And most importantly, remember linking to sites will neither influence not affect your page rank till you are sure about whom you are linking to.

Thus, it is never the numbers but always the quality that works!

It has been observed that now-a-days, like a trend every SEO content, Blog and even Web Pages are flooded with Links also called contextual links from top to bottom. For example there are a number of links in the content section of the blog and web pages, there are links all over the sidebars and not to forget the numerous anchor text links in the header and footer apart from the navigational links. Keeping this widely spreading trend in mind, it would not be wrong to say that it seems webmasters/SEOs are just blindly following the trend and placing as many links as they can on their web pages or SEO contents…just for the sake of getting extra attention from the Search Engines. And that too without giving a second thought to the result of it. i.e. without thinking, whether placing as many links will really be helpful or not…is it true that Google gives extra weightage to the links or treats them equally etc.

As a matter of fact, most of the webmasters generally place links because they think the more links they will have on their web pages, blog or content, the more importance it will be given by the search engine; Google. And this will consequently also boost the chances of their page getting high Page Rank & showing in SERPs and all this will lead to increased traffic…However, for the correct information of all these people it needs to be told that what they believe in, is only partly correct and is partly wrong. This is because though links play an important role in getting attention from the search engines, however we as well as the Google Bots which are quite intelligent very well understand that links on the sidebar, footer, header etc are navigational and mostly copyright links and thus does not mean much to the Search Engine. Moreover, links in the content or article which are also referred as in-content link, is what is most important for Google.
